The Department of Accountancy was established in the year 1983. Late Dr. Prabhat Ch. Kakati was appointed as a whole time lecturer in the year 1989 and he served as the HOD since then.
The department imparts HS course and both Honours and Regular courses at the degree level. It has a departmental library with more than 300 text books and reference books. Field Study is conducted every year for Honours students of B.Com classes. The department organizes seminars and workshops on academic activities in collaboration with the reputed institutions for the benefit of the students.
